Well, the honeymoon's over! I am officially Mrs. Wright (and although I've changed my driver's license and social security, I am still signing my checks "Carli Clawson"! Ugh! One more annoying thing girls have to do that guys DON'T!). Yet life is, well, "just wright"!
Rio loves his daddy. His new favorite song to sing is "I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home." He's been waiting for this for 3 years. It's awesome. :)
Ryan and I are closing on a house on July 15th! HOORAY!!! We are so excited. We are getting a great deal on the cutest house. Now we just need some furniture to move into it... It will feel great to have our very own home. I can't wait!
Ryan gets some kind of reward reimbursements or something from his insurance for life-changing events, such as
*getting married (check)
*buying a home (check)
*adopting a child (check)
*having a child (ch...hmmm...maybe we'll hold off on this one for a bit???)
Lucky for him (someone who actually really struggles with change), he will experience every one of these within just a few months! Haha! And everybody told him I would change his life! He didn't realize they meant that literally! :)
Here are a few (you know-- **FEW** --wink, wink) of my favorite wedding pictures:.jpg)

This 'n' That
So. It's been a while. I have been SOooooo crazy-busy with my master's coursework, my teaching evaluation, wedding/life planning,
---oh, btw, we are getting married on Friday, May 29th!---
quilting, and being a mommy that I seriously have been avoiding my blog! So I am just going to post a few pics of what's been happening, as I really don't have time to write much right now.... (Brace yourself for the MOTHER of all long blog posts!) :)
HIPPITY-HOP...
We took Rio to the Easter egg hunt in Wales. He loved it. He had so many eggs in his bucket that he started helping another little boy pick up eggs to put in his bucket. It was pretty cute. Notice the gloves he refuses to take off--even to sleep. Also, check out the Easter Bunny who lives in MY town (and doubles as Santa Claus at Christmastime!). Did YOU get a sweet picture of your family with him? Hmmmm??? I think NOT!
(Note: I wasn't kidding about Rio sleeping in his gloves.)
FEELING A LITTLE WICKED...
My mom got us tickets to Wicked for Christmas, and I've counted down the months until the show. It was phenomenal. I know you are all green with envy.
FELIZ CUMPLEANOS, MAMA!
It was my mom's birthday last weekend, so we all got together at P.F. Chang's for dinner. Repeat after me, people: LEH-TUSS-RAPS. Yum! Delicious! Mouth-watering! Toothsome! Delectable! Spicy! The best part about this place, of course, is that you get to eat like 10 different dishes because everyone orders something different and then passes them around to everyone else! It was so good to have all of the family together (except my little brother, who ditched us!) I have the best family ever. Dad, Mom, Whitney, Isi, Malakai, Rio, Ryan, Me, Coleby, Breanna, & Chesni
WHAT IN THE DEVIL HAS GOTTEN INTO ME?!
A bunch of friends from Nephi started a sort of quilting club. We are going to meet monthly and each of us will plan a project for the month. This first month, we all brought our own fabric for a "Strawberry Shortcake" Quilt. I sewed the entire thing this weekend, and I LOVE IT! And I just went back to my favorite fabric shop today and bought the fabric for my next project. Heaven help me.
Yummy Strawberry Shortcake to go with our "Strawberry Shortcake" quilt pattern! Thanks, Connie & SueAnn!
THERE IS BEAUTY ALL AROUND...
Rio and I escaped life for a couple of days. It was a spur of the moment trip, where we just packed up and drove to Zion National Park! It was such a memorable trip; I will NEVER forget it. According to Rio, we stayed in the "Hotel California!" He got to do what he does best: get filthy and climb on rocks (or anything climbable). He talked to a friendly squirrel about the hantavirus. We had a picnic surrounded by the out-of-this-world beautiful red rock formations. We went swimming in the Hotel California pool.
It really felt as if the universe just
stopped
for me and Rio those two days.
How I wish that happened more often.
I LOVE THIS LITTLE BOY MORE THAN ANYTHING.
